It seems obvious that HYT, a brand defined by it’s incorporation of liquid into their timepieces, should partner with RC44. Since February, HYT has been official timekeeper for the RC44 Championship Tour. The tour was created back in 2007 by legendary Russell Coutts, five time winner of the America’s Cup.
“For this occasion, we needed a piece that of course leveraged on our fluid technology but also ensured the performance and the lightness of a monocoque,” HYT CEO Vincent Perriard said. To that end, HYT presents the H1 Air Rc44, a watch limited to just 22 pieces. This is the first timepiece HYT has ever created as a result of a partnership, and we’d say it’s been worth the wait!
Explore Our Selection of HYT Watches Here!At 48.8mm, aluminum composite H1 Air RC44 certainly makes a bold statement. The watch features a mechanical hand-wound movement of 28,8000 VpH, 4Hz, and 35 jewels. This marks the first HYT timepiece to feature anti-reflective sapphire crystal, and the brand makes the most of it; the watch features a screw-down sapphire crystal case back as well. Like all HYT models, time is told via fluid rather than traditional indicators. The portion of the dial covering the bellows is transparent, allowing you to see straight into the heart of the watch. The sapphire dial is adorned with an applied chapter made of a single piece of carbon, evoking the ultra perfectionist structures of racing monocoques. Features include a 65-hour power reserve with indicator with grey and orange shading between the 2 and 3 o’clock positions, regulator at the 12 o’clock position, and second disc with an orange indicator between the 9 and 10 o’clock position.
