Jaquet Droz reveals a new Petite Heure Minute Dragon watch, the first in a collaboration between Jaquet Droz and John Howe

Jaquet Droz has partnered with fantasy art legend John Howe to give birth to this magical Petite Heure Minute Dragon watch. Howe is famous for his magnificent fantasy art and his iconic illustrative and conceptual artwork in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies. This Swiss watch masterpiece is forged from Howe’s genius for conveying myths combined with Jaquet Droz’s artisanal watchmaking.

The Story of the Dragon

Well, this watch certainly tells a story. Designed with the myth of the dragon in mind, the watch features a dark blue Grand Feu enamel dial with a micro-painted dragon inside of a 41mm 18K white gold case. The hand-painted miniature dragon on the dial has a red tongue and is holding a Dragon Pearl – symbolic of wisdom, happiness, and abundance for the pearl’s owner.

The dial showcases Jaquet Droz’s signature style with off-centered hours and minutes which are tracked by 18K gold hands. The watch has a self-winding mechanical movement with a 68-hour power reserve. A silicon balance spring allows for the watch to be resistant to magnetic interference and maintain accurate timekeeping. Matching the dark blue dial is a rolled-edge dark blue alligator strap with an 18K white gold ardillon buckle.  Water-resistant to 30 meters.
