7 Best Dive Watches for Summer 2014

With so many of our clients planning to visit tropical locales this summer, we thought it’d be a good time to share our favorite diving watches for men. Whether you plan on swimming in the hotel pool, snorkeling in the bay, or scuba diving in the deep blue sea, King Jewelers has a men’s dive watch that will fit your style and budget.

1) Cartier Calibre Dive Watches for Men

By far one of our favorite new watches of 2014, the Calibre de Cartier Diver Watch is not only an exceptional diving instrument but also an exceptionally fashionable timepiece. It is the smallest watch on the list (both in diameter and in thickness) making it more comfortable to wear on a daily basis. It features a mechanical self-winding movement contained within a 42mm steel case. The dial is black with 18K pink gold accents and indicators in Super-LumiNova for great visibility while underwater. Features include a date display window at the 3 o’clock position and a steel ADLC-coated bezel with indicator in Super-LumiNova. The strap is black rubber and has a steel ardillon buckle. This dive watch is water-resistant to 300 meters and is therefore suitable for scuba diving at depths which do not require helium gas.

2) IWC Aquatimer Deep Sea 3 Diving Watch

The third generation of IWC’s Aquatimer Deep Sea dive watches, and definitely our favorite of the family so far. Using three parameters (elapsed dive time, maximum depth reached during the dive and the seconds hand) the diver can plan any necessary decompression stops and remain at the necessary depth to conclude the dive safely and successfully. This watch features a mechanical self-winding movement contained within a 46mm titanium case. It has a rotating bezel with SafeDrive system and luminescent elements. The dial is black with luminescent hands for easy visibility underwater. This dive watch is water resistant to 10 bar.

3) Hublot Oceanographic 4000 Dive Watches for Men

Hublot’s Oceanographic 4000 was the first watch to have a water resistance of 4,000 meters- by far the greatest depth on our list. The watch has a self-winding mechanical movement contained within a 48mm case. It features a helium valve, which allows gases that enter the watch during descent to be released safely during the diver’s ascent. The Oceanographic 4000 is available in a multitude of models- shown here in Carbon Fiber (left) and Titanium (right). It is definitely the dive watch for serious diving enthusiasts.

4) TAG Heuer Aquaracer Chrono Dive Watch

Not only is the Aquaracer the most affordable of our dive watches for men in the collection, but it also boasts an impressive 500m water resistance. The watch features an automatic chronograph movement contained within a 44mm steel case. The unidirectional rotating bezel has six large studs for easy manipulation. Features include a date display window at the 3 o’clock position, three chronograph subdials, and an automatic helium escape valve at the 10 o’clock position which regulates pressure.

5) Harry Winston Ocean Sport Chronograph Dive Watch

Harry Winston has the unique distinction of using Zalium in their dive watches. In the 1980s Ronald Winston created Zalium, one of the lightest and most durable metals in the world, for NASA. The Ocean Sport Chronograph features a mechanical automatic movement contained within a 44mm case. The three-dimensional smoked sapphire dial features luminescent hands for easy visibility underwater. It is water-resistant to 200m and has a 42-hour power reserve.

6) Breguet Marine Royale Alarm Dive Watches

The brand name speaks for itself- Breguet has long been considered one of the best watch brands in the world. The brand was formed in 1775 and has since catered to an impressive clientele of historical icons including Marie-Antoinette, Napoleon Bonaparte, and Sir Winston Churchill. The Marine Royale Alarm is one of the few men’s diving watches to feature an alarm function, further separating it from the competition. It features a self-winding movement contained within a 45mm case and is water resistant to 300m. Although it’s available in a variety of combinations, we’re partial to the 18K rose gold with a black rhodium gold dial and blue accents.

7) Roger Dubuis Pulsion Chronograph Dive Watches

Roger Dubuis made the first luxury diver watch when they launched the Easy Diver collection (which has since evolved into the Pulsion collection.) The story goes that Dubuis was on a yacht in Europe and grew tired of taking his watch off to swim in the ocean. He vowed to make one for the following year and the Dubuis diving watch was born. This watch features a self-winding movement contained within a 44mm titanium case and is water resistant to 10 bar.
