SIHH Spotlight: IWC Ingenieur Auto Carbon Performance Watch

With IWC’s new partnership with Mercedes AMG Formula One Team, a race inspired carbon fiber model was only expected to be released sooner or later. Just in time for SIHH 2013, IWC has introduced the Ingenieur Automatic Carbon Performance watch.

The Ingenieur Automatic Carbon Performance is IWC’s first carbon fiber model. Both the dial and the 46mm case is made of extremely lightweight and durable carbon fiber. The strap is rubber with textile inlay and features either yellow or red stitching much like the stripes on the walls of the slick race tires. The rotor is also detailed with more racing touches and includes three detailed rod and pistons, which is interestingly the same mechanical force that drives a car as well as in this case the movement.
